Is this a relative of the praying mantis family? The camouflage is truly remarkable – at first glance it simply looks like a twig!

At first I wasn’t sure who had written this post… until I came across the stickbug along with the descriptor “cute” – clearly not an Erin post. 🙂
In any case, Katherine is adorable and that is the strangest-looking potato I have ever seen. 🙂

No, I don’t think that stick insects and praying mantises are all that closely related. But it’s such an effective camouflage that it had to be used more than once.
And anybody that wants to is welcome to come peel potatoes. They are quite tasty.
