And  here are a few pictures from our not-entirely-happy visit to Acadia National Park.

First, a gorgeous view of the rugged coast and out onto the Atlantic from one of the mountains:

I’d heard that there was great birdwatching to be had. I found a gull:

Okay, not quite everything was white:

I especially liked the natural bonsai pine trees. It’s a bit hard to tell the size in the picture, but these trees are only a little taller than I am:
